We've been fortunate enough for Waddecar Scout Activity Centre to let us use a part of a field for our project. Waddecar is situated on the River Brock just north west of Beacon Fell in the forest of Bowland. A few years ago, a very good friend of the site, Bill Fazackerley passed away and left a bequest to Waddecar with a wish that it be used to purchase additional land. Bill's Meadow as it is now known is early on in its development but has been used for the last couple of years for camping on, particularly during large events and has had a number of new activities installed there. 2006 saw us launch the Grow Force project and the polytunnel and fruit cages were installed in an area that was unsuitable for camping but ideal for us to develop as an ecological and horticultural base.

Part of the project is also to try and help enhance the activities and appearance of Waddecar and Grow FOrce is now starting to manage to do this nicely. Our first tranche of funding helped to install a new gravel track across the field to assist with transport and also of course to plant the 200 trees native to the area to help define the area into specific chunks.
